Chris Pople started writing Cheese and Biscuits in February 2007 after he realized venting his spleen on a restaurant blog was a marvelous way of exorcising the memory of a miserable meal. Now somewhat of a veteran with over 300 posts behind him, covering everything from greasy spoons to haute cuisine from Camberwell to the Costa Brava, in his own words he writes “under-researched, hyperbolic but hopefully entertaining” reviews of anywhere he happens to find himself. The blog was runner-up in the 2010 Observer Food Monthly awards, chosen by the Times as one of the Top 10 from around the world, and was no.2 in the April 2011 Esquire UK list of “Bloggers Restaurants Fear”.
